A while back, I mentioned getting back on my clean eating regimen.  This is one of my go to favorites for a quick, energizing, and flavorful meal replacement.  With IBD, unless you are trying to lose weight or maintain, I wouldn’t worry  so much about calorie count.  The goal for many of us, is to be able to eat something. ANYTHING, without aggravating our symptoms.

1/2 cup water

1/2 banana

1/2 cup strawberries

1-2 scoops protein powder

tsp glutamine powder

This particular recipe yields just over 12oz and 302 calories (my protein powder is 170 calories per serving).  Glutamine is an amino acid found in many protein or recovery drinks now as it aids in post-workout muscle recovery.  It also helps heal mucosal lining.

I have not listed a brand, as we are all different when it comes to sensitivities.  Go with what works for you!  And absolutely, change up the fruits creating different flavors!
